If you are reading this review wondering whether or not a wedding in Lake Garda is right for you, and if you should enlist the services of the incredible ladies at Lake Garda Weddings, the answer is most definitely YES!! From the very first time we contacted LGW with an initial enquiry following our engagement, the help and support has been amazing. Like so many couples our original wedding date was hit by covid and we had to postpone the date twice, and in the process bombarded Annabel and Gwen with questions and all the ifs, buts and maybes we could think of. These ladies are unflappable and no question is too much trouble for them to answer.
They honestly take all (well, most!) of the stress out of planning a wedding and contacting them way back in January 2019 was the best decision we made (aside from the decision to get married of course!). When we finally arrived in Malcesine ahead of the wedding, it was amazing to meet the team after so many years of emails. Annabel took us to the town hall to complete the official business and then on a walk around tour of the castle, the restaurant where our lakeside toast would be, the harbour, the florist and the hair salon, getting to know us and the type of wedding day we wanted in the process. Aside from the wedding itself, this couple of hours was one of the most enjoyable parts of our trip. Afterwards, we sat down with Gwen and discussed the types of photographs we would like, and she gave us tips for life on how to look your best in photos! We left our meeting feeling even more excited and completely reassured that with Annabel as the master of ceremonies the wedding day would be a breeze!
The day itself was everything we hoped it would be, and more!! Annabel was just wonderful, taking charge of making sure everyone was where they were supposed to be at all times (and making sure we remembered to eat!) ensuring we didn’t need to worry about a thing. Gwen was masterful in managing our family and friends so as to get some amazing photos that we will cherish forever, and she even managed to get the father of the bride to smile…which is no mean feat!! The ceremony itself was followed by a lakeside toast at La Pace restaurant, which is also where we had a meet and greet meal the night before, and would thoroughly recommend. From there we jumped on a boat to La Voglia restaurant for the reception.
The venue itself is perfect, situated on the lake and with a lovely outside area for chilling out in the shade on a very hot day. The food was superb, as confirmed by all our guests, and Christian and his team were always on hand to help. We honestly could not have wished for a better day and we could not have achieved it without the team at LGW; Annabel was with us right up until our first dance and Gwen even stopped by the restaurant in order to show us some of the pictures she had taken.
They could not have done more to make sure our day went off without a hitch and to make sure our special day was one we would never forget. We will be forever grateful to everyone at LGW, but especially Annabel and Gwen, for making our dream wedding a reality. We would not hesitate to recommend using LGW and having been in contact with them over the last 2.5yrs we are really going to miss them!!
Thank you Annabel and Gwen, from the bottom of our hearts, you have been such a huge part of our process and we couldn’t have done it without you. We will see you in Malcesine again soon!! Lots of love Charlotte, Carl, Ella and Ava xxxx
