What can I say about LGW that hasn't already been said?! It is true what everyone says, you are in the safest hands, the ladies look after you from start to finish and even when you think you have thought of everything they use their experience to make your day even better.
We knew as soon as we got engaged we wanted to get married in Malcesine having seen a wedding there a few years before. I was so impressed with how quickly Gwen got back to us with details about what was possible, we were booked in no time. Between the time of booking with Gwen to Annabel taking us under her wing for the big day all the ladies helped us replying quickly to emails no matter how silly the question might be.
We visited a year ago and had Sara show us around, introducing us to the hairdresser and florist, really putting our minds at rest. By the end of the visit we knew everything would be ok.
For our big day we arrived a couple of days before and Annabel took us around the town for the welcome meeting. Everyone was so helpful and nothing felt like too much trouble. The flowers were beautiful. I had sent a picture of a bouquet I liked and asked the rest of the flowers to match, on the day they looked better than I could have imagined. I was a little nervous about hair and make-up but I really had no need to worry. I had a hair and make-up trial that put my mind at rest, these ladies are artists and definitely know what they are doing. Again both looked better than the pictures I had brought for ideas. On the day the ladies worked like a well-oiled machine making sure everyone had exactly what they wanted and even managed to fit an indecisive guest in at the last minute. The Tuk tuk was a fantastic touch and made my Dad's day being driven to the castle by Luca with locals and tourists cheering us on. We were also very grateful for the ride down to the habour to meet the boat in the blistering heat. The way my husband and I arrived at the boat before the guests gave us a lovely 5 minutes alone together in the breeze. Christian and his team at La Voglia did an amazing job. We met him the day before to show him how we wanted the tables and again nothing was too much trouble. The setting is so beautiful there less really is more. The drink and food was served seamlessly meaning we weren't rushed but had plenty of time for dancing too. We had a range of menus because of children and me being vegetarian but everyone commented on how wonderful the food was.
Last but absolutely not least is Gwen our photographer and Annabel our planner. Although myself, my dad nor my hubby like having their picture taken Gwen has such a lovely way about her that we were laughing like old friends in no time. The photographs before the ceremony with my dad gave us some special memories we will keep forever. We collected our photo CD a few days after and had to wait until we got home to look at it but it was well worth it, we just have the difficult task now of deciding which ones to put up in the house without it looking like a wedding shrine!
Annabel- our fairy godmother. She made the whole day so special. From the welcome meeting we knew she had everything in hand and not that there would be any issues but she would sort them so quickly we wouldn't even know. She stayed with us right through to our first dance and there were tears when she left.
It can be a daunting thing to have your wedding abroad but the beauty of LGWs is you can and should totally hand over your trust to them- you couldn't be in safer, more professional hands.
